RULES & REGULATIONS FOR BOX CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Tournament Rules
1) League format.
2) SIX over a side games.
3) Quality tennis balls will be provided for all the matches.
4) Points system in League matches; Wins: 2 Points, Loss: 0 Points
5) In case of Tie Super over will be played
6) In case, two or more teams have equal points after league matches; the winner of league will go through Knockout stage.
7) The Umpire's decision will be Final & binding on all the teams. And, all captains are requested to communicate the same to their teammates. Please avoid challenging umpire's decision. Team challenging umpire decision will be disqualified
Team Rules
1) Each team will have 6 players including a captain.
2) Each player can play only in one team.
3) Providing new ball or replacing the old ball during match will be on umpire's discretion.
Batting Rules
1) Each team will face maximum 6 overs. Bowlers can bowl one over each.
2) While batting, at any stage, captain can ask any player to 'Retire' & other batsman can be sent in for batting. The retired batsman can come in to bat only after all other batsman have got out & there are some overs / balls left for the team to play.
3) Runner can't be taken by any batsman.
4) If any hit lands outside the playing arena, the batsman will be declared out.
5) Straight hit crossing the boundary will be awarded four runs and to the sides 2 runs will be declared and batsman has to take a run if the ball is in the playing area
6) Behind the stumps no runs will be awarded.
Bowling Rules
1) A 'Mid-Pitch' line is marked. The deliveries pitched beyond this line would only be considered as the valid deliveries. Any ball pitched short of this line will be declared 'No Ball'.
2) Any Full Toss ball above knee height will be declared 'No Ball'.
3) The Bowling has to be 'underarm' with maximum 'one step run-up only'.
4) There will be no 'LBW' dismissals in this tournament. But, the umpire can take a decision & declare the batsman out, if he does it repeatedly after the warnings given by the umpire.
5) Benefit of doubt will be in the favor of batsman.
6) Extra runs will be awarded to the batting team for 'Wide' & 'No-balls' as per standard Cricket Rules.
