At the Monchy Playing Field, Gros Islet Secondary put in a spirited bowling
performance to defeat SDA Academy by 34 runs. Gros Islet Secondary batting
first, was dismissed for 157 in 25.4 overs, with Lindon St Juste making 22,
Tev Lawrence 21, Mc Henry Cumberbatch 19 and female player Qiana Joseph 18.
For SDA Academy, the wickets were shared between seamers Dudley Charles with
impressive figures of 6 for 29 in 5 overs and Rumario Simmons 4 for 53 in 7
overs. Chasing 158 for victory, SDA Academy after looking comfortably placed
at 112 for 2 lost wickets in a cluster and was bowled out for 123 in 24.3
overs.
At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Sir Ira Simmons enjoyed a comfortable 7
wicket victory over Marigot Secondary. Marigot Secondary taking first knock
was dismissed for 94 in 19.5 overs with Curtis Edwards contributing 27,
Janille Thomas 12 not out and Shervon Johnny 11. For Sir Ira Simmons, the
wickets were shared among, Kimani Sexius with 3 for 20 in 5 overs, Tyler
Sookwa 2 for 14 in 5 overs, Dane Edward 2 for 28 in 5 overs and Johnnel
Eugene 2 for 32 in 4.5 overs.
Set a victory target of 95, Sir Ira Simmons despite losing 3 wickets easily
got to their target, finishing on 95 for 3 in just 10 overs with Dane Edward
making 24 and Johnnel Eugene 20 not out. Brandon Modeste was the pick of the
bowlers for Marigot Secondary, finishing with 2 for 26 in 4 overs.
At the Dennery Playing Field, Grande Riviere Secondary defeated George
Charles Secondary by 49 runs. Grande Riviere Secondary batting first, was
dismissed for 147 in 28.1 overs, with Mc Kenny Flavius contributing 48 and
Quain Duplessis 15. Daniel Alphonse was George Charles' best bowler with
figures of 5 for 27 in 7.1 overs. He was also supported by Courtney Modeste
with 3 for 45 in 6 overs and Nicholas Joseph 2 for 35 in 9.3 overs. In
reply, George Charles Secondary was dismissed for 98 in 16.1 overs, with
Alex Jn Baptiste making 20 and Claude Sexius 14. Bowling for Grande Riviere
Secondary, Quain Duplessis 3 for 16 in 5 overs, Glenn John 2 for 6 in 1.2
overs, Zachary Sandiford 2 for 10 in 3 overs and Mc Kenny Flavius 2 for 28
in 4 overs.
