The three remaining matches of the quarter-final stage of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Massy United Insurance Under-19 Schools Cricket Tournament continued on Thursday. Victories were recorded for Sir Arthur Lewis over Vide Bouteille Secondary, Gros Islet Secondary over Corinth Secondary and Ciceron Secondary over Clendon Mason Memorial.
At the Dennery Playing Field, Ciceron Secondary won over Clendon Mason Memorial comfortably by 52 runs. Ciceron Secondary batting first, was dismissed for 174 in the 27th over, with Veron Preville top scoring with 42 and Arkel Joseph 23. Bowling for Clendon Mason, Nixon Edmund 3 for 47 in 8 overs, Daniel Augustin 2 for 49 in 8 overs and Saffan Laurent 2 for 51 in 7.4 overs. Set a victory target of 175, Clendon Mason was bowled out for 122 in 23.1 overs, with Nixon Edmund making 44 and Jerlan Jean-Baptiste making 15. For Ciceron Secondary, the chief destroyer was off spinner a Denfar Edward who picked up 6 for 33 in 7.1 overs. Female player Nerissa Crafton gave good support, picking up 2 for 4 in 2 overs.
The Massy United Insurance man of the match went to Denfar Edward for his match winning bowling figures of 6 for 33 in 7.1 overs for Ciceron Secondary.
