Rules for Men's CPL 2016-17:

1. An innings of every CPL match will be of maximum Ten (10) full over?s of six balls each.

2. For each match first 2 over?s mandatory power play, during which only 2 fielders are allowed to field on boundary line. Then there is 1 over of bowling power play and 1 over of batting power play, during which 3 fielders are allowed to field on boundary line. These both (batting & bowling) power play?s needs to be completed by the 8th over of an inning.

3. During non power play over?s, minimum 4 fielders (excluding bowler & keeper) are required inside the 30 yard circle.

4. Every team has to use minimum five (5) bowlers, only one (1) bowler can bowl maximum of three (3) over?s.

5. Extra run will be given for Wide & No ball. The batsman is also allowed to take bye run(s) which will be credited as extras.

6. All common rules followed in One Day International matches will be followed except for LBW rule. (i.e. a batsman cannot get out by LBW rule.) Hence there will be no Leg-Byes.

7. If a bowler bowls a foot no ball, (Oversteps) then the ?Free hit? will be available on the next ball for every ?No ball?. a. If batsmen change the ends then field placing can be changed, otherwise not. b. On free hit delivery a batsman can get out only by run out and not by any other method.

8. Only one bouncer (above the shoulder height) will be allowed, others will be treated as ?No? balls.

9. Maximum 5 fielders on leg side are allowed.

10. Runner will be available only for an injured player, not for a tired player.

11. Any kind of un-parliamentary behavior will lead to disqualification of the respective team member(s).

12. Umpire's decision will be the final decision & will be binding on all. Any argument will result into termination of the team(s) from the league.

13. Wicket Keeper can do stumping by throw.

14. If bowler bowls two beamers in an innings, he will be banned from bowling anymore during remainder of the match. On first beamer, umpire will give a warning to the bowler and the ball will be considered as a wide or a no ball.

15. Points Table:- a. A match winning team will get 2 points and the opponent will get 0 point. In case of tie in league matches both teams will be awarded 1 point. c. Top four teams in the points table will play the semifinals. d. In case of the points being equal- ?Net Run Rate (NRR)? will be considered. b. In the knock out matches, if there is a ?Tie? result, each team will bowl a super over; the team which gets maximum runs will win. If in this super over the scores are level, then the number of sixes in that match (excluding the super over) and then in case of further
ties, the number of wickets fallen in that match (excluding the super over) will be considered.

16. Any rules not specified above will be according to the decisions of the Organizers.

17. Chucking is not allowed while bowling, in case any batsman takes objection then decision by the on field umpires will be final.

18. Non-striker will be given out without any prior warning in case of mankading.

Rules for Women's CPL 2016-17:

1. An inning of each league match will be of maximum Eight (8) full Overs of six balls each.  There will not be any kind of field restriction for any over.

2. For each league match any bowler can bowl maximum two (2) Overs.

3.Extra run will be given for Wide & No ball. The batsman is also allowed to take bye run(s) which will be credited as extras.

4.Maximum of 11 players are allowed to play the match. For any reason team has less than 11 players, the team will play with the available players.

5.All common rules followed in One Day International matches will be followed except for LBW rule. (I.e. A batsman cannot get out by LBW rule.) Similarly there are no Leg-Byes.
