The Laws of cricket apply to T10, with some exceptions:
Each bowler may bowl a maximum of only one-fifth of the total overs per innings.
If a bowler delivers a no ball by overstepping the popping crease, it costs 1 run and his next delivery is designated a "free-hit" however if the bowler bowls above waist height for either spinner or seam bowler, it costs 2 runs and his next delivery is designated a "free-hit". In this circumstance the batsman can only be dismissed through a run out, hitting the ball twice, obstructing the field or handling the ball.
The following fielding restrictions apply:
No more than five fielders can be on the leg side at any time.
During the first 3 overs, a maximum of two fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle (this is known as the powerplay).
After the first 3 overs, a maximum of 6 fielders can be outside the fielding circle.
If the fielding team does not start to bowl their 10th over within 30 minutes, the batting side is credited an extra 10 runs for every 1 over bowled after the 30-minute mark; the umpire may deduct runs from the batting team if on his discretion believes the batting team is wasting time.
The batting team may decide on a power over anywhere in their 10 overs. The batsman have to notify the umpires before the start of the over when the bowler is at the top of his mark. Every run is doubled during the power over however if a wicket falls the batting team has 5 runs deducted off their total.
Teams are allowed to substitute fielders between overs, however whatever time is taking to make the substitution is part of the 30 minutes allocated to bowl 10 overs.
