At the Monchy Playing Field, Babonneau Secondary crushed CARE by a massive
303 runs. Babonneau Secondary taking first knock, made a whopping 444 for 7
in 30 overs, with a recording breaking batting performance from their
captain 14 year old, Kimani Melius. Melius batted with great maturity and
class in making 275, the highest ever individual score recorded in the
history of the tournament. His stroke filled inning included 25 fours and 21
sixes. Kimani Melius now joins two previous centurions of the tournament so
far, Nick Elibox with 185 and Nixon Edmund 120. The foundation of Babonneau
Secondary's huge score was brought about by a massive 232 run opening
partnership between Kimani Melius and Stavone Gabriel who made 65. Bowling
for CARE, Winston Joseph 4 for 146 in 10 overs and Mc Guire Solomon 2 for 68
in 5 overs.
Set an improbable target of 445 for victory, CARE despite 42 from Emerson
Charles and 41 from Prince Gabriel never challenged the total and were
eventually bowled out for 141 in 20.2 overs. For Babonneau Secondary, the
main wicket takers were Yohan Hunte who picked up 4 for 38 in 5 overs, Rene
Montoute 3 for 12 in 5 overs and Christopher Alfred 2 for 5 in 1.5 overs.
