The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Massy United Insurance Under 19
Schools Cricket Tournament continued on Thursday with victories for Ciceron
Secondary over CARE and Micoud Secondary over Anse Ger Secondary.
At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Ciceron Secondary crushed CARE by 10
wickets in a one - sided match. CARE batting first, was bowled out for 46 in
11.3 overs with Emerson Charles 10, the only batsman to reach double
figures. Doing the damage with the ball for Ciceron Secondary were, Kywan
John 5 for 19 in 5 overs, Gervawni Clement 2 for 15 in 5 overs and Denfar
Edward 1 for 0 in 0.3 overs.
Set 47 for victory, Ciceron Secondary made light work of their task
finishing on 47 without loss in only 6.1 overs, with openers Jonathan Samuel
and Denfar Edward finishing on 24 and 6 respectively.
At the Dennery Playing Field, Micoud Secondary had the better of Anse Ger
Secondary, winning a close one by just 13 runs. Micoud Secondary taking
first knock reached 200 for 8 in their allotted 37.4 overs, with the leading
scorers being, Dillon Fanis with 44, Steffan Gustave 24, Kimron Marquis 23
and Molice Lubrin 22. Bowling for Anse Ger Secondary, Cory Serieux 2 for 39
in 8 overs and Curlan Serieux 2 for 50 in 8 overs. Chasing 201 for
victory, Anse Ger Secondary led by an unbeaten 96 from Darrel St Marie,
tried valiantly to get to their target, but fell short by just 14 runs,
finishing on 187 all out in 27.4 overs. Cory Serieux also contributed 19 to
the run chase. For Micoud Secondary, the main wicket takers were, Garvin
Serieux with 2 for 27 in 4.4 overs, Molice Lubrin 2 for 31 in 4 overs,
Dillon Fanis 2 for 39 in 8 overs and Nestor Paul 2 for 40 in 5 overs.
